| Water | The water comes straight from the hills about ¼ of a mile from the Farm. The water is regularly tested by the local authority and has always been found to be extremely pure. If the weather, prior to your arrival, has been unusually dry for a prolonged period there can be a problem with the supply and we would ask you to exercise caution if this is the case. (We have never known the water to actually stop flowing but if there is a drought we will ask you, on your arrival, to be sparing). |
| Entry | Entry is available to Courtyard Cottage from 3.00.p.m. on the day of your arrival, and you are expected to vacate by 10.00.am. on the day of your departure, and we hope you will leave the property as you found it. |

| Fishing | There is fishing available on Mull for salmon, sea trout, rainbow trout, and brown trout on the island and sea fishing trips can be arranged at Tobermory. (Details of availability change so ask us on arrival for the latest venues) |
| Castles | Duart Castle. A restored 12th century
fortification, the home of Sir Lachlan and Lady MacLean, 3 miles south of
Craignure. Torosay Castle. A Victorian ‘castle’ that is extremely pretty and has beautiful gardens. Well worth a visit if its raining as you can wander about the house, sit in the library, read the books and learn of the family history. There is tea room which provides home made cakes and light snacks. Moy Castle. Lochbuie, a photogenic ruined tower on the foreshore. |
| Walks | Ben More on the shore of Loch Na Keal is the only Munro (a Scottish
peak over 3000ft) not on the mainland with the exception of the mountains
of Skye.
The Fossil Tree at Burg. A fossilised tree 40ft tall with a diameter of 3ft. A strenuous walk of some 14 miles (return) but worth it if you are fit enough. There are many more walks catering for all tastes and abilities these two just happen to be my favourites. There are books in the cottage with other walks described, and also Ordnance Survey maps. |
| Wildlife | In and around Mull wildlife abounds. Passing through the Farm garden you are likely to see Red and Fallow deer, White-tailed Sea Eagles, Golden Eagles, Buzzards and many more species. Occasionally you may see Otters and Polecats. There are plenty of Grey and Common seals around the shores and Minke whale, Dolphins, Porpoises and Basking Shark are regular visitors to the waters around Mull. There are whale watching trips from Tobermory. Throughout the summer there are boat trips to the bird sanctuaries of The Treshnish Islands where you can walk amongst the tens of thousands of seabirds that nest there, these include Puffin, Guillemot, Razorbill, Shag and many more. |
